The Bridge
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a home (simple) church?
It is a group of people who weekly meet in a house rather than a church building. For the first 400 years Christians met in homes before there were churches. Two times per month all micro-churches will gather for celebration.
What is the Organizing Principle for this method of ministry?
Our ministry design is found in the book of Acts.
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-27 NIV

What is the goal of a home (simple) church?
To create a close knit, dynamic, intimate, bible-based fellowship in which believing Christians can become excited and alive in their faith. And, to be a place where those who might not consider themselves Christians can be comfortable coming with questions and doubts about Christianity.
Our desire is simple
· Start new home (micro) churches
· Make disciples
How do we define disciple?
As strange as it may sound Jesus never asked anyone if they wanted to be a “Christian”. Rather, His invitation can be wrapped up in two words: “Follow me” (Mt. 9:9). Those who followed and embraced His teaching were known as DISCIPLES.
DISCIPLES devoted their lives to obeying the teaching of Jesus and were commissioned to go and train others to live the same way (Mt. 28:19-20). Those who never made the decision to model their lives after Christ also have a Biblical name.
They were known simply as the “CROWD”. The move from CROWD member to DISCIPLE entails five things.
R – Receive His salvation
E – Enlist in His body
A – Abide in His presence
C – Contribute to His cause
H – Heed His commands
